As a Vegan you see lots of things in this world when your eyes are open. But for a person that isn't a vegan or even a veggie their eyes are closed to what happens around them.
I open my curtains in the morning and i see the lambs and sheep. Most people would think that is beautiful.Me i sit and wait for them going to the slaughter houses. What does that say about the people that think it is beautiful. There comment is we need to eat meat as well.
I have had a lot of talks with people that aren't vegans/veggie and they say to me we know what is going on we just don't like talking about it. then they fire up the barbecue and they cook their meat.
Or an other topic is abuse on animals. They talk about how this shouldn't be going on. But they don't do anything about it they contribute to it. They do this every time they open their mouth and put the dead animal their eating inside.
Isn't that still animal abuse an animal dying for no reason. Is it not animal abuse when a calf is getting ripped away from it's mother when it is born so those people can have milk.
A question i was asked the other day
I understand the not eating meat thing. Because the animal has to die. However, Vegans look down on vegetarians for drinking milk and using wool. These in no way harm animals. Why do vegans judge vegetarians so harshly?
There are actually several reasons. The average Dairy cow lives for no more then 4 years, basically until they no longer produce enough milk then the are slaughtered. They are constantly being impregnated and having their babies taken away way before they're ready. The milk that we get comes from an emotionally and physically abused cow pumped full of hormones and antibiotics. I could go on forever about this but you can certainly research it yourself. My answer to them was
I'm not as well informed about wool sheep but I'm sure their lives aren't pleasant either. Vegan's in general are anti-species-ism which means they don't think animals should be enslaved for human enjoyment.
In my case I do believe human's should be the top of our priority list but the question is about NEED. We don't NEED to eat meat, in fact the current meat based western diet is killing the planet and the people. Vegan diet is nutritionally sufficient for every stage in life. We don't need to wear wool or leather either. I'm Vegan because it's healthier and I'm reducing the suffering of animals.
